The dying tolls of the devotees within the first segment of the Ijtema stand at 9
The first segment of the fifty fifth Biswa Ijtema is set to give up with the Akheri Munajat (final prayer) on Sunday morning along the banks of the Turag River in Tongi, on the outskirts of Dhaka.
Thousands of Muslim devotees from home and abroad have gathered at the Ijtema ground to enroll in the Akheri Munajat during the first phase amid boosted security features, reports BSS.
Ijtema is the second one biggest congregation of the Muslim community after Hajj.
During the second one day of its first section on Saturday, Indian Islamic Scholar Mawlana Abdur Rahman delivered sermons on extraordinary factors, which includes Imaan and Akhlaq, of Islam within the mild of the holy Quran and Hadith.
The Muslim devotees which includes 2,000 foreigners, thronged the Ijtema ground underneath the open sky in spite of inclement weather of winter.
During the Akheri Munajat, vehicular moves will continue to be suspended from 5am on Sunday at the Airport Road to Joydebpur intersection of the Dhaka-Mymensingh motorway, Mirer Bazar to Tongi bus stop of the Dhaka-Sylhet dual carriageway thru Gazipur and Abdullahpur to Bypass of the Abdullahpur-Ashulia street.
However, special train offerings have been launched for the Akheri Munajat while the Tongi station will provide stoppage for all of the intercity express trains for some time.
About eight,500 contributors of various law enforcement agencies were deployed to ensure safety around the Ijtema ground.
The death tolls of the devotees inside the first section of the Ijtema stood at 9 up to now as four greater devotees died on Friday night.
The 2nd section of the Ijtema is scheduled to start on January 17 on the same venue and it’ll cease on January 19.
Tablig Jamaat has been organizing the Biswa Ijtema on the bank of Turag river when you consider that 1967. Currently the Ijtema is being held in two phases on account that 2011 to ease the lodging trouble.
